The eTA New Zealand for Hong Kong citizens is valid for a total of 2 years, and it allows multiple entries of up to 90 consecutive days in New Zealand. It’s suitable for tourism and business visits. The NZeTA also permits remote work for non-New Zealand companies during your stay.
Hongkongers who plan to transit through Auckland International Airport on their way to a different destination also need to apply an eTA to transit.

On arrival, passengers arriving from Hong Kong need to present:
- Passport they used to apply for the NZeTA
- Return or onward flight tickets
- Completed New Zealand arrival card
Applicants who have more than one passport due to dual nationality need to travel to the country using the passport they used to apply for the eTA. It is only valid when used with the corresponding travel document.
NZeTA to travel from Hong Kong to New Zealand by cruise
Citizens of Hong Kong arriving in New Zealand on a cruise ship should also apply for an NZeTA. They should complete the online application process as explained above.
It is also possible to fly from Hong Kong to New Zealand to join a cruise using an NZeTA.
